Audience feedback on our film

Audience feedback

For our audience feedback we got some students from other classes to view our films. They gave the following feedback:

· The music was nice; the sound effects worked well with the nature of the film and created suspicion which was good as it reflected the mission impossible theme.

· The animations were funny; it allowed the character to do things that he wouldn’t be able to do in human form.

· The end was slightly confusing because it was unclear what was happening.

· The actor’s acting was very good but needed to be more believable.

· The story flowed well e.g. the part where there was a swirly dream effect to show that we were going into hid imagination.

· The idea of film and animation combined was great - the transitions between both film and animation were good.

· The music was good.

· The voice over timing in the mother scene was also very good.

After hearing the feedback we had a group discussion to reflect on our work. We decided that most important thing we needed to work on was our ending because at the moment it is confusing to the audience as to happens at the end of the film. However at this stage we were finding it very difficult to come up with any bright ideas.

Editing sessions with Niraj...

Niraj helped us to edit the film because we were unfamiliar with final cut pro. He helped us a lot and we learned most of the basics of how to use final cut pro e.g. how to render the scenes. these are some pictures of us during the editing process.

Filming sessions two...

We also had to film the parts with our alien actors. The scene with the aliens had none of the other actors in it so we thought that we would be able to complete the scene in just one session and we were able to. But it was getting the actors together that took that took a very long time. Every time we planned a filming session, we organised for actors to be our aliens but things always went wrong from the weather being miserable to the actors not being available to too many school kids being around. We also had to book the school minivan for this scene, so there were times when the actors were available but the minivan wasn’t and times when the minivan was available but the actors weren’t. This was really frustrating for us because it was such a short scene and it wasn’t getting done. Our aliens also kept changing and so in the end Mr King who works in the Design and Technology department (who also has a license to drive a minivan which was one of our other problems) helped us out a lot by rounding up some of his colleagues and making sure the van was free for us at a time where all the school kids would not be out, and then finally we were able to get our scene done. Some of the emails between myself and Mr Harding, who is in charge of the school minivan, are shown below.
